Sukku Malli coffee is a great drink that aids in digestion. It also helps soothe the symptoms of cold and body aches.
Even if you don’t have the habit of drinking Sukku Malli coffee regularly, it is good to take it once in a while – say, once a week.
In order to make this drink, you need to have the powder ready with you, which you can make in batches.
Let’s see the recipe for Sukku Malli Coffee (or Kaapi, as it is called)!
Ingredients for Sukku Malli Coffee powder
Coriander seeds / முழு மல்லி – 1/4 cup
Dried Ginger / சுக்கு – About 75 gms
Pepper / மிளகு – 3/4 tablespoon (you can increase or decrease quantity of pepper as per your preference)
For making the sukku mallu kaapi:
Sugar / சக்கரை (preferably country sugar / நாட்டு சக்கரை) – 2 tablespoons
Sukku Malli Coffee powder / சுக்கு மல்லி பொடி – 1/2 tablespoon
Water / தண்ணீர் -1/5 cups
Sukku malli coffee recipe
In order to make Sukku Malli Coffee powder, dry roast coriander seeds, dried ginger and pepper until coriander seeds change color and you get a nice aroma.
Let it cool. Now take the roasted ingredients to a mixer jar and make a powder.
Transfer this powder to an air tight container.
To make coffee, take 1.5 cups of water and add 1/2 tablespoon of sukku malli coffee powder.
Bring to a boil.
Add 2 tablespoons of sugar (preferably country sugar) to a tumbler / mug and strain the coffee in, hot.
Stir and enjoy the sukku malli coffee hot!
How to make sukku malli coffee / சுக்கு மல்லி காப்பி from scratch?
Ingredients
- 1 cup Coriander seeds / முழு மல்லி
