Mutton is a posh non vegetarian dish. A spicy mutton fry is an intact, and apt side dish to go with rice with mutton curry, or rice and sambar.
Many times, a Sunday wonβt be complete without a yummy mutton fry like this.
Hereβs the recipe for this mouth watering dish.
Ingredients for Mutton Fry
Mutton β 700 gms, boneless or with bones
Onions β 2 Medium sized
Tomatoes β 2 Medium sized
Ginger garlic paste β 2 1/2 tablespoons
Chilli powder β 2 1/2 teaspoons
Turmeric powder β 1/2 teaspoon
Oil β 2 tablespoons
Salt β 2 tablespoons, adjust accordingly.
Mutton Fry Recipe
Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pressure cooker pan. Add 2 finely chopped onions.
Saute till the onions turn translucent.
Add the ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes away.
Now add the tomatoes. Add 2 tablespoons salt and mix well.
Saute briefly. Once the tomatoes turn slightly mushy, add the chilli powder.
Saute till the raw smell goes away and tomatoes turn mushy. Add turmeric powder and mix well.
Now add in the mutton pieces and give it a good mix so that the masala coats the meat.
Add 1 1/2 cups water. Mix well. Check for salt and add if needed.
Close the pressure cooker lid and cook for 5 whisltes.
Let the pressure settle. Now open the lid, turn on the stove and cook until all the water is absorbed.
Your spicy, yummy mutton fry is ready. Enjoy it with rice and mutton kuzhambu or regular sambar!
