Ragi or Finger Millet is a highly nutritious and healthy millet.
Including finger millet in your regular diet will give you lots of benefits.
But ragi is usually a substance that most of us hesitate to eat because we think it is not as tasteful as other items.
So it is crucial that we find ways to make yummy dishes with Ragi so all members of the family including the kids would enjoy it and get the full benefits of this millet.
In this direction here’s a simple recipe for a delicious, yet instant, ragi rava dosa!
Ingredients for Ragi Rava Dosa
Ragi (Finger Miller) flour – 4 cups
Salt – 2 tablespoons
Water – 3 1/2 Cups
Oil – 2 tablespoons
Chana dal – 1/2 tablepoon
Urad dal – 1/2 tablespoon
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tablespoon
Red chillies – 2
Onions – 2 Medium
Curry leaves – a sprig
Rava – 1/2 cup
Ragi Rava Dosa Recipe
In a bowl, take 4 cups Ragi flour. Add 1/2 tablespoon salt and mix well. Now, add 3 cups water in installment and mix well so there are no lumps.
In a pan, heat the oil and add chana dal, urad dal, mustard seeds, and curry leaves.
Once the seeds splutter, add the chopped onions and fry well until the onions become translucent, while adding about 1/2 tablespoon salt.
Let this cool.
In the ragi batter, add rava, and the tempered onion. Add another 1/2 cup water, 1 tablespoon salt and mix well.
The batter should be runny. Let the batter sit for at least 10 mins.
Now make the dosa as you would make rava dosa – just be a little liberal with the oil.
